1966 the ramrods
The first band Gary was in is called The Ramrods. This band used to rehearse at the scouts hall in Drummoyne on Saturday afternoons. Gary wasn't very popular as he always wanted to keep rehearsing when they all wanted to get away to see their girl friends. Gary got really excited when it started to sound good.
Barry Connors (vocals)
Barry Brady (guitar)
Ken Kramer (bass)
Gary Moberley (keyboards)
Quentin Chadwick (drums)
Singles 1966
"Since You Broke My Heart"/"Since I Don't Have You"
"You Should Have Held On"/"Get Back"
Photo shows, Paul Keating' our manager (left) who later became prime minister of Australia, (the one who pinched the queens bum). This is where Gary had his first contact with The Bee Gees. They backed them in some clubs, pubs and bars and played around Sydney.
At that time The Bee Gees were singing "my old mans a dustman" and other songs like "does you chewing gum lose its flavour". There would have been some sparks flying if someone found out they were all underage to be playing those venues.
